    A collaboration between Napa Valley Grapegrowers and Napa Valley Unified School District, Fields of Opportunity is an innovative way to connect local students to paid jobs. Students participate in rotational work in viticulture, agricultural mechanics, cellar, customer service and more while gaining valuable experience and mentorship from industry professionals.

    A collaboration between Napa Valley Unified School District and various local community partners, career days bring relevant guest speakers and activities to a school setting. Students participate in various career exploration ativities within the classroom, and the Career Readiness Office pulls that data to connect student with businesses they are interested in learning more about!

Career Readiness:

From a surface level perspective, College Readiness means a high school graduate has the knowledge and skills in English and Mathematics necessary to qualify for and succeed in entry-level, credit-bearing postsecondary coursework without the need for remediation.

Career Readiness means an individual has a solid understanding of their interests, strengths and challenges with a firm grasp of the skills and abilities necessary to successfully compete in today’s fast-paced, global economy.

To be college- and career-ready, high school graduates must have studied a rigorous and broad core curriculum including financial literacy and career preparation/exploration. Napa Valley Unified School District continues to meet this challenge by developing relationships and partnerships around a common goal: college and career readiness for all students.

Career Exploration

Napa Valley Unified School District’s Career Readiness Office provides relevant and meaningful career exploration to students through strategic partnerships with staff, business partners and community organizations.

Students can explore potential careers through work based learning internships, career fairs, job shadows, business site visits and more!
