Jessica was born and raised in Napa by successful entrepreneur parents and has deep ties to the local business community. After graduating high school, Jessica wandered through community college, attending (and dropping) various classes, hoping to become inspired towards a career.
In her early 20’s, she enrolled in a 4 year university where she found her passion in Change Management, graduating with both a Business and Psychology degree. From there, she quickly moved up the management ladder, working more than 8 years in the private sector before catching the entrepreneurial bug and starting a business buying, reviving and reselling distressed ecommerce businesses.
Throughout her career, Jessica came into contact with many others with stories similar to hers, including individuals who were perpetually unhappy with their careers. Thus, Jessica joined the NVUSD team in 2012 to help champion and support career education and preparation in her local community.
When she isn’t at work, she can be found camping, kayaking or running her family’s urban farm, tending to chickens and bees with her husband and daughter.
Amber is a Napa native who attended Alta Heights, Redwood Middle School and graduated from Vintage High. After obtaining her Bachelors of Arts Degree from Sonoma State, she discovered her passion working with youth in the non-profit sector as a group home counselor. She has also worked as a Social Worker with Napa County Child Protective Services and most recently as Program Manager of VOICES.
She is excited to bring her expertise in youth services and network of community partners to her position as Career Readiness Supervisor with NVUSD. Her creativity and innovative program planning techniques are a perfect foundation for designing career readiness activities and connecting authentic opportunities for students.
When not working, Amber enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters. They enjoy summers at the lake or poolside and winters in the snow. As Career Readiness Supervisor with NVUSD, Amber looks forward to continuing her work expanding and enhancing career readiness and postsecondary planning in the high school setting.
